These days you can enjoy your music and games free from wires without paying an arm and a leg. The problem is, with so many options, it’s hard to know which model is the best wireless headphones. 

The Arctis 7 comes out slightly ahead, but only by a small margin. Both headsets offer excellent, low-latency sound, but the Arctis 7 is more comfortable and has  slightly higher sound quality. Also, the SteelSeries Arctis 7 is a lot lighter than the Logitech G933 while also providing better noise insulation.

Steelseries Arctis 7

When it comes to looks, these two headsets are totally different. The Arctis 7 features an understated, minimalist design.

The Arctis 7 is definitely the more classy of the two. With this headset, you can pick between an all-black design or one with white speakers. It is important to note that the one with white speakers still includes a black headband and ear cushions. 

We appreciate the understated design of this headset, but we would have liked to have seen the Arctis 7 come in a few more color options.

Logitech G933

In stark contrast, the Logitech G933 is somewhat of a flashy pair of cans. Even though it has the same exact size 40mm speakers as the Arctis 7, the Logitech G933 is a far larger pair of headphones. In fact, they are one of the largest pairs gaming headphones on the market.

With this headset, the headband is entirely covered by a hard plastic. The hard plastic feels sort of cheap and it only adds to its already heavy stance without giving these headphones much more sturdiness in return.

In true gamer fashion, RGB lighting can be found on both speakers. The RGB lighting can be programmed to synchronize with other Logitech RGB gaming devices. 

Also, the Logitech G933 features a customizable magnetized tag that the user can attach to both sides of the headset.

Steelseries Arctis 7 vs Logitech G933: Comfort

Other than sound quality, comfortable is probably the most important factor when it comes to any gaming headset. Gaming headsets should be designed to be comfortable to wear for several hours at a time.

The Arctis 7 has a suspended headband strap that has been engineered to automatically fit the shape of the user’s head. This is in contrast to the G933 manual headband that requires adjustments. 

Both of these headsets are comfortable enough for the average user, but if you have somewhat of a larger head, you may want to go with the Logitech G933, as it’s a bit roomier.

The larger speakers and ear cups on the G933 are great for users who don’t like their headphones to touch their ears. There is a downside to this, however. As a result, the G933 is much heavier than the Arctis 7.

The Arctis 7 features the company’s patented ‘Airweave’ cushion technology. These ear cushions are able to let your skin breath and are comfortable to the touch. 

The Logitech G933 has a mesh fabric that is covered in foam that is also breathable , but is less comfortable to the touch.

7.1 Surround and Overall Sound Quality

Surround sound gives games and movies a much more authentic sense of immersion. When it comes to games, it can give you a competitive advantage. It can be extremely helpful to be able to hear people coming from around the corner, before they are in sight.

It’s important to note that only the Logitech G933 is detected by Windows as a 7.1 headset by default. So, you will have to change some settings and install some software to get 7.1 surround sound to work on some games with the Arctis 7.

That can be annoying, but it’s not a deal-breaker. And besides, most of the time you won’t run into this issue. The thing is, though, it’s an issue that you would never have to deal with using the Logitech G933.

Both the Arctis 7 and G933 do excellently as far as sound quality. The Arctis 7 leaning sounds a little better due to its higher quality speakers, but the Logitech G933 has a little more bass. 

The Arctis 7’s does a lot better at blocking out external noise compared to the Logitech G933.

Latency and Performance

When using anything that is wireless, it takes time for the signal to travel from the PC to the device. This inherent delay is called latency.

This is really the determining property that makes gaming headsets stand out from regular wireless offerings. Headsets that are not gaming-focused generally offer latency in the 250 millisecond range. That’s a quarter of a second. You could easily see how this much lag could cause problems when playing a game or even watching a movie.

So, how when it comes to the Arctic 7 vs G933, how is their latency? The good news here is that both are great. The Artic 7 has a latency of 28ms while the Logitech G933 came out slightly faster at just 22ms. Here, the G933 is the clear winner, but only by 6 thousandths of a second.

Steelseries Arctis 7 vs Logitech G933: Battery Life

Today’s wireless headsets can run for much longer in between charges compared to models from just a few years ago.

The Arctis 7 needs just 3.5 hours for a full charge. The Logitech G933 doesn’t take much longer at just 3.8 hours. Even though it takes less time to charge, the Arctis 7 a little better battery life than the Logitech G933.

The thing is, though, with these headsets you don’t really have to worry about running out of battery. This is because both of them support wired options as an alternative.

It is important to note, however, that neither of these headsets actually send the audio signal over USB. Like a lot of other headsets, it only uses the USB port for power. You will need to use a 3.5mm stereo cable if you want to use either of these headsets in wired mode.

Also, the G933’s RGB and neither headset’s microphone will work over the 3.5mm unless a mic splitter adapter is used. That can be a little annoying, but it’s not too big of a deal most of the time. 

Steelseries Arctis 7 vs Logitech G933: Winner 

The Arctis 7 is a better choice, overall, but only by a little. Both headsets are great, low-latency wireless options, but the Arctis 7 is better in comfort and sound quality. The SteelSeries is a lot lighter than the G933, and it better insulates the user from outside noises.

The Logitech G933 is still a great headset. In fact, if customization and the lowest possible latency are important things to you, then the G933 is the one for you. It has just slightly better bass and is the best fit for users that have large heads.

Also, if 7.1 channel surround-sound gaming is important to you, the G933 won’t have you constantly going into your game’s settings to re-configure its audio settings.
