There are a number of potential causes for Error Code 721 and not all of them are fixable. For instance, if the root of the error code is DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on EA then there is nothing that you can except sit and wait until EA software engineers resolve the situation. With four distinct, fixable causes of Star Wars Battlefront 2 Error Code 721 comes four unique solutions. Although the unfixable cause, a DDOS attack, is fairly common, there are several other causes that are just as common and might be worth troubleshooting while you are waiting for EA software engineers to fix their servers anyway.

Let us start with the console-related issues and work our way down to PC-related issues, so if you are playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 on a PC I recommend scrolling down to the bottom of this section.

Step 1: Power Cycling Your Console

If you are playing on a Playstation 4 or Xbox One and EA Servers are not experiencing a DDOS attack, it is likely that your issue is stemming from cached data breaking the online functionality of the game. To resolve this issue, you will have to power cycle your console which can be done by performing a hard reset.

To hard reset a PS4, follow these four steps.

On your Dualshock4 controller, press and hold the PS button to bring up the power options menu. 
From the list of available power options, select the ‘Turn off PS4’ icon and press the ‘X’ button (make sure you are NOT selecting the ‘Rest mode’ icon).
Once the console completely shuts down, unplug the console’s power cable and wait for at least ten seconds.

For PS4 users, follow these five steps.

From your dashboard, go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Network’ then ‘Set up Internet Connection’. 
Choose Wi-Fi or LAN depending on which one you are using.
Choose ‘Custom’, then set the IP address to ‘Automatic’.
Set the ‘DHCP Host Name’ to ‘Do Not Specify’.
Then, set the ‘DNS Settings’ to ‘Manual’, set the ‘Primary DNS’ to ‘8.8.8.8’, and set the ‘Secondary DNS’ to ‘8.8.4.4’.

For Xbox One users, follow these three steps.

From the Xbox One menu, go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Network’ then ‘Advanced Settings’.
Choose ‘DNS Settings’ and select ‘Manual’.
Then, enter ‘8.8.8.8’ for the ‘Primary DNS’ and ‘8.8.4.4’ for the ‘Secondary DNS’.

For PC users, follow these six steps.

Press ‘Windows’ + ‘R’ to open up a Run dialog box. Type ‘ncpa.cpl’ into the text box and press ‘Enter’ to open up the ‘Network Connections’ window.
Select the connection that you want to configure the Google Public DNS.
Inside the ‘Wi-Fi/Ethernet Properties’ screen, go to the ‘Networking’ tab and go to the settings box under ‘This connection uses the following items’. Select ‘Internet Protocol Version 4’ and click the ‘Properties’ icon.
Go to the ‘General’ tab, select the toggle associated with ‘Use the following DNS server address’ and replace the ‘Preferred DNS Server’ with ‘8.8.8.8’ and the ‘Alternate DNS Server’ with ‘8.8.4.4’.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 with ‘Internet Protocol Version 6’, but use ‘2001:4860:4860:8888’ for ‘Preferred DNS Server’ and ‘2001:4860:4860:8844’ for ‘Alternate DNS Server’.
Restart your network connection.

4. Reinstall Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PC Only)

Some people have reported success in resolving the issue after reinstalling the game due to a faulty installation the first time. To reinstall Star Wars Battlefront 2 on your PC, follow these three steps.
